Indigenous Thinking

Rutger Bregman’s marvellous book, ‘Human Kind’, explains how we tend to be nice and friendly.  Also, ‘The Dawn of Everything’ by Graeber and Wengrow points to civilisations that have been astoundingly friendly, equitable, peaceful and. grass-roots democratic.  They see Western “civilisation” as having gone down a bad path that others have not taken, especially in being hierarchical and obsessed with domination.  So we are capable of building and running good societies.

The document below is an example of how local initiatives can circumvent the problems in our complex systems. Ted Trainer is the author of the paper ‘Degrowth – How Much do we need‘.
